Interdisciplinary Liberal Studies ranked #4 in the nation by and #1 in the West. The ranking reflects diversity of learning options, graduation rates, admissions rates, and options for post-baccalaureate study.

"Our program continues to be recognized for academic excellence in the field of interdisciplinary studies," said Program Director Professor Sven Arvidson.

In addition to the ranking, the Interdisciplinary Liberal Studies program is the first and only bachelor's degree on the West Coast to qualify for a chapter of the Alpha Iota Sigma National Honor Society. The society recognizes outstanding academic achievement in the field of interdisciplinary studies.

Arvidson noted that recent program graduates have worked at private, public, and nonprofit organizations including Yahoo, T-Mobile, Seattle Public Schools, Google, and Seattle Children's Hospital.

"Marketable skills come from being trained as an interdisciplinarian,v Arvidson said. "Project-management, effective communication, teamwork, leadership, strategic thinking, creativity, and enterprise are intrinsic to our program."

The College of Arts and Sciences, the largest college in Seattle University, offers more than 80 undergraduate degrees and 7 master's degrees.
