Paul Willis Reading Set for October 8

Poet, novelist, and non-fiction writer Paul Willis joins the English Department faculty as the university’s first Writer-on-Campus for the fall quarter 2014. Willis, a professor of English and Creative Writing at Westmont College in Santa Barbara, has written several books of poetry, and his poems have appeared in hundreds of publications, including the 1996 edition of Best American Poetry. His work includes The Alpine Tales (fantasy stories about wilderness ) and a book of essays Bright Shoots of Everlastingness.

Willis will read from his work on October 8, 2014, from 4:30 – 6:00 p.m. in Casey Commons. This event is free and open to the public.

The English Department in the College of Arts and Sciences, the largest college in Seattle University, offers degrees in Literature, Creative Writing, Writing Studies, and Film Studies.
