EdD, Educational Leadership and Policy Studies
Dr. Stephan Blanford recently completed a 4-year term of service as an elected member of the Seattle School Board, representing 54,000 students enrolled in the largest school district in Washington State. While in this role, he provided fiduciary oversight of over $10 Billion in operations and capital funds while providing educational direction and strong governance. He is most proud of the “Leadership in Equity” award granted him by the Principal’s Association of Seattle Schools for his unceasing and unapologetic advocacy for racial equity and excellence while on the school board.
He holds a doctorate in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies and a Masters in Public Administration, both from the University of Washington. Presently, Stephan serves on the board of the United Way of King County, the Transition Team for Mayor Jenny Durkan and professionally is the Executive in Residence for the Seattle Foundation.
