Lauren Dickinson, MSW
Adjunct Professor, Social Work Program
Lauren Dickinson is a clinical social worker with a bachelor’s degree in psychology from James Madison University and a master’s degree from Virginia Commonwealth University. Lauren’s interests lie in improving access to quality healthcare and reducing health disparities across all populations. Lauren is a strong advocate for the integration of behavioral and physical healthcare and incorporating a strong social work presence within this integrated system.
Lauren began her career as an inpatient psychiatric social worker at Dominion Hospital in Virginia. Upon moving to Seattle, she has worked both as an emergency department social worker and inpatient medical social worker at Swedish Medical Center. Lauren currently serves as a Social Work Coordinator where she focuses on employee education and support, policy development, and clinical quality oversight. Lauren also serves as a voluntary board member on the King County Behavioral Health Advisory Board where she advocates for stronger behavioral health legislation for King County residents and provides recommendations for the integration of the physical and behavioral health services within the King County Behavioral Health Organization.
