Joe McIalwain is the founding Executive Director of Edmonds Center for the Arts.  Born in Seattle, he received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Drama from the University of Washington, and then moved to the Southeast where he earned his Master of Fine Arts Degree in Theatre Management from the University of Alabama and the Alabama Shakespeare Festival.

Joe has also served as Assistant Professor of Theatre Management for the University of Alabama; Managing Director of Cincinnati Shakespeare Company; and Director of Development for Kirkland Performance Center in Kirkland, WA.

As the Executive Director of Edmonds Center for the Arts, Joe has led the organization through its first seven seasons of programming, and has helped establish the Center as one of the leading performing arts venues in the region.

Joe has served as President of the Board of Theatre Puget Sound, as a member of the Board of Edmonds Chamber of Commerce, and is currently serving as President of the Board of Leadership Snohomish County.
