Brynnen Ford holds a Ph.D. in educational leadership and policy studies from the University of Washington. Her research interests are varied; recent papers explore the experience of white/Euro-American school principals negotiating racial conflict and trust-building as part of social justice leadership interactions. Brynnen’s professional and academic background is in educational leadership of K-12 schools, policy research, and youth-programs evaluation. In addition to teaching at SU, she works in Seattle Public Schools as a data coach, grants manager and administrator and has previously has served the District as a teacher. parent leader as well as a facilitator with related nonprofit education reform organizations, including a stint as an assistant director at Powerful Schools. As a volunteer, Brynnen is and has been a leader of several local non-profit boards. At Seattle University, she has taught program evaluation in the Master of Nonprofit Leadership and in the College of Education and data analysis, research design & basic statistics in the Master of Public Administration and Bachelor of Public Affairs programs. She loves working and learning with SU students!
