I am currently finishing up my PhD in English Language and Literature at the University of Washington where my research focuses on twentieth century multi-ethnic literatures of the United States. I am specifically interested in literatures that take up “the street” and urban space and how this “street lit” uses the literary form to reclaim and/or make anew the use value of the city street. In addition to teaching high school English in California, I have taught courses in composition and literature in the English department at UW. I am also a founding member of and current editor-in-chief for Process: Journal of Multidisciplinary Undergraduate Scholarship, an online journal that publishes undergraduate work from around the world.
