The Provost’s Council was formed in fall 2016. This council includes the deans, as well as other key administrative and academic leaders. It expanded upon the Deans’ Council (which included the Provost, all deans, Associate/Assistant Provosts, Vice President for Enrollment Management, and the University Librarian) and added the President and Vice Presidents of Academic Assembly, the Chief Diversity Officer, the Associate Vice President for Institutional Effectiveness, the Director, University Core and Student Government representative.  The purpose of the Provost’s Council is to support shared governance by creating a larger and more cross-departmental leadership group within Academic Affairs. The addition of the leadership of Academic Assembly (the faculty representative body) is intended to provide additional channels though which faculty are able to exercise their role in governance.
