Non-SU

If SU Sponsored, Exchange or Faculty-led program options do not meet a students unique requirements, they can participate in a Non-SU program. Participants in Non-SU programs are still required to meet with their Education Abroad Advisor and apply through the Education Abroad office. Contact the Education Abroad Office for more details.

While selecting Non-SU programs, students will not be able to participate in the programs that are available on our SU-sponsored and exchange list. Please be sure to check in with an Education Abroad Advisor to confirm that they can participate in their desired Non-SU program.

How it works

  • Attend an Information Session at the Education Abroad Office (EAO)
  • Schedule to meet with an Education Abroad Advisor and your academic advisor
  • Apply to program directly. Deadlines vary.
  • Fees are paid directly to program provider.
  • Complete required SU paperwork by published deadlines and attend mandatory pre-departure orientation.
  • State and federal aid only can be applied to these programs.
  • Eligible coursework applies toward the SU degree as transfer credits.

Costs

Program provider fees, SU Technology Fee and $1,000 Credit Transfer Fee (charged to SU student account upon receipt of official program transcript). Students with State and Federal Aid are highly encouraged to go to Student Financial Services to learn more about their aid distribution.
