Whether you want to gain financial experience in a commodities brokerage; work in an auction house or at an advertising agency; explore non-profit management; or assist a British MP in the houses of Parliament, our internships consist of much more than mere observation or filing paperwork. In addition to your 3-day-a-week internship placement you will also write a substantial paper or complete an independent project. While our internship program is not for the timid and will require good time management skills, the chance to work and study in London provides one of the best study abroad experiences available. You'll take part in British life and culture in ways that few students are able to, while also gaining valuable working experience. And you can earn a full semester's worth of credit.

This program satisfies the curriculum requirements for the Bachelor of Social Work degree and meets Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) accreditation standards. The program is sponsored by the social work departments of thirteen schools and managed by CGEE. The mission of the program is to develop cross-culturally competent, ethical social work professionals with a global perspective by providing a semester of transformative, experiential learning focused on social and economic justice. The program offers the option of community service opportunities. In addition, field experience placements are available for students with intermediate to advanced language proficiency (a limited number of placements are available for students with fewer Spanish language skills).

The Universidad Pontitifica Comillas, a Jesuit institution established in 1904, has approximately 7,700 undergraduate students. There's a reason why many of the world's most famous scientists have visited the Galápagos Islands-now it's your turn to discover one of the world's most beautiful and biologically diverse island locations. It's here that you will get hands-on experience studying topics such as Biology, Ecology, Environmental Studies, Marine Ecology, and Sociology. This direct enrollment program is organized through the Galápagos Academic Institute for the Arts and Sciences (GAIAS), a remote campus of the Universidad San Francisco de Quito (USFQ) located on the island of San Cristóbal. Before you head to the Galápagos, the program will begin with a month in Quito, where you participate in an orientation, a course at USFQ Cumbayá campus, and course-related excursions. The remaining months are spent on San Cristóbal in the Galápagos Islands. Additional course-related excursions allow you to spend time in other locations, based on your course enrollment.

This program is open to students at the beginning, intermediate and advanced levels of Spanish proficiency. It is designed for students wishing to expand their knowledge of Health Care practices abroad while improving their Spanish. Throughout the 12-week program students may participate in up to three 80-hour Spanish language courses and at least one Health Care elective course. This program provides students with the opportunity to gain both classroom and practical, hands-on communication experience. Students may also enroll in the regularly-offered trimester courses to complete their maximum enrollment number of four courses. Language courses are held in the morning while elective courses are held in the afternoon. There may be weekend or afternoon field trips associated with Health Care courses. Health courses are focused on professionals and students in this field.

Through the "History, Culture & Politics" program at Charles University, students have the opportunity to choose from a variety of humanities-based courses during a semester or academic year program in Prague, Czech Republic. ISA works closely with faculty at Charles University to develop coursework exclusively designed for ISA students. Subjects offered include history, architecture, cinema, economics, politics and Czech language. The courses offered are instructed in English at Charles University by host university faculty, and classmates are ISA students only. While there is no language pre-requisite for this program, all students must complete the two-week intensive Czech Language course for 45 total contact hours.

Students will have the opportunity to progress through two consecutive levels of Spanish language, each level being worth 126 hours of instruction, totaling 252 hours for the semester. The program is open to all levels of Spanish speakers. Students will participate in courses offered at University of Belgrano's language department that focus on Spanish grammar, conversation, and culture. Students will be in class with Americans and other international students. All students must take a Spanish language placement exam upon arrival in Buenos Aires. The exam will indicate each student's language proficiency level, and will determine the courses in which the student is eligible to enroll. Students who arrive in Argentina having completed less than one year of college-level Spanish will likely place into beginning level. Students who arrive in Argentine having completed one full year of college-level Spanish will likely place into the intermediate-level courses.

The International Business & Economics program offers a variety of courses focusing in International Business, International Economics, Globalization, Finance, Communications and more. Students study in the Central and East European Studies (CESP) division of the University of Economics, Prague with other international students. With several corporate partners and memberships to organizations such as CEMS (Community of European Management Schools) and PIM (Partnership in International Management), UEP is recognized as one of the most prestigious universities in Europe for Economics. All courses are instructed in English, with the exception of the Czech language course. The courses are taught by host university faculty (native Czech professors and business professionals) and are held in the UEP's newest addition to its campus in central Prague, a ten-minute walk to the ISA Prague office. Classmates are international students, the majority of whom are North American or European.

In this 12-week program, students may complete up to three courses of college level Spanish as well as additional electives in various fields including Environmental Studies, Business, Politics, Latin American Studies, Liberal Arts, and Communication. Most of the electives offered are taught in English and others are taught in Spanish (for advanced level Spanish speakers). Another great advantage of this program is that its intensive language courses are four weeks long meaning students can complete an intensive Spanish language course in four weeks and then move on to a higher level Spanish class, with the possibility of moving up three language levels throughout the course of their program. Students are entitled to enroll in a total of four courses (combination of electives and four-week language courses). All classes are at the Universidad Veritas with ISA and other international students. Courses are taught by host university faculty at the Universidad Veritas.

As a peace broker in the region, Jordan provides an excellent site from which to study territorial conflict and state sovereignty, international intervention, and how geography's effects on politics and international relations. You'll learn about the dominant international relations paradigms in the Middle East and discuss reconciliation models with political scientists, diplomats, and policymakers. You'll also consider the rise of ISIS and the role of Russia and the US in peacemaking in the Middle East.

Sogang University was founded in 1960 by the Society of Jesus and is the only Jesuit higher educational institution n Korea. A little over 1,350 foreign students study year round at Sogang University.     USAC China Program students can choose between two academic tracks. You can enroll in the 912 credit intensive Chinese language tracks and take one or two elective area studies courses, or you can choose to take a single four credit course in elementary Chinese and up to four area studies courses, selecting from Chinese history, literature in translation, government and politics, economics, culture and society, and anthropology, all taught in English. China is an enormously exciting country, and the transformation of its social, political and economic dimensions has brought a new openness and interest in foreigners. USAC classes are held at Sichuan University in Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan Province, one of the most scenic areas in all of China. Included in the program are field trips to regional areas of interest. The Chinese Studies Program offers intensive language study up to two years of university language requirements may be met in one semester.

    Chiang Mai is located on the Ping River in Northern Thailand and dates back over 700 years. Surrounded by high mountain ranges, it is considered one of the most scenic areas in the country. Unlike most of Thailand, the climate in the northland especially in Chiang Mai's cool, fresh, and misty. The region is full of lush jungles, national parks, and over 300 Buddhist temples. Historically and culturally important for trade, Chiang Mai province is the second largest province in Thailand. Thailand is strategically located in the heart of Southeast Asia and is an important center of the region. Thailand has a population of 67 million people, 95 of whom are Buddhist. Although industrialization and modernization have brought energy to the lifestyle in Chiang Mai, one can still find beautiful old temples and palaces among the skyscrapers. The saying that Thailand is the land of smiles is still true, especially in the rural areas where traditional agrarian lifestyles survive.

USAC students may also enroll in courses in the departments of the Arts, Law, Commerce, Celtic Studies, Sciences, Engineering and Medicine. Cork, the second largest city in Ireland is located on the south coast surrounded by the sea on the south, the mountains and hills to the north, and the lakes of Killarney to the west. You may also participate in any of the more than 100 clubs and societies at the university and join sports teams and exercise clubs at either the indoor or outdoor sports facilities.

    Costa Rica is well known for its peaceful lifestyle, egalitarian society, and extraordinary natural beauty. USAC students study intensive elementary, intermediate and advanced Spanish and elective subjects such as art history, biology, ecology, political science, business and anthropology in Puntarenas, a small city located on a narrow peninsula jutting out into a gulf on the Pacific Coast. Elective subjects are taught in English or in Spanish. Some field trips are included on which you can hike in the jungle or to a volcano, swim off beautiful beaches or ride in an aerial tram across the canopy of a jungle. For an even more in depth view, you can elect to participate in the optional six day tours offered to the north and south of Costa Rica and not only sightsee but also take part in such activities as kayaking, canoeing, snorkeling, or soaking in thermal hot springs as you watch an active volcano erupt.

    The uniqueness of the San Ramon program allows you to develop or enhance your academic knowledge in tropical ecology, tropical marine biology, conservation biology, environmental policy and other life science topics within Costa Rica. You will be able to augment your regular coursework by enrolling in several related field study courses such as Tropical Conservation Biology, Tropical Ecology and Biodiversity Field Study, Tropical Marine Biology Field Study and Biodiversity Field Study. This program is complemented by courses in Spanish language (you may take up to one year of Spanish per semester) and cultural or area studies. San Ramon is situated about halfway between San Jose and Puntarenas, in the beautiful Central Valley of Costa Rica. The city has a population of roughly 14,000 and is easily accessible by road from many other cities.

    Our Santiago, Chile program is ideal for students who wish to experience the charm and physical beauty of Chile. USAC students study intensive Spanish language and take complementary courses taught in English or Spanish in such subjects as political science, anthropology, economics, history, and the arts. Week-long field study tours and several field trips are organized by the USAC Chile Program staff members each semester giving you a chance to see and experience many of the country's historical, cultural, and scenic sites.
