With this fun virtual event, the Education Abroad Office is promoting the new Education Abroad Scholarship Fund, in hopes to help Seattle U students with financial need realize their goal of studying abroad. Please consider donating towards this scholarship for students’ future studies abroad. For many students, cost is a significant barrier to studying abroad. Even small donations can go a long way in opening doors for students as small costs add-up. For example:
The Education Abroad Office will be purchasing the challenge entries. After Feb 10th, we will be sending out further instructions on how to create accounts and activate the challenge.
The Education Abroad Team will officially start the challenge on Feb 17th and hoping to complete the challenge by the end of Lent on April 3rd, 7 weeks. You can set how long you would like to complete the challenge in the online platform, which is up to a year!
Distance based exercises such as running, walking, cycling, swimming, rowing, etc. In non-distance based exercises, there is a conversion chart that converts time into distance equivalents. In the Virtual Challenge app/online platform, you can manually input your exercise distance or connect it to your smart device (Apple Health app, Apple Watch, Garmin, Fitbit, etc.)
Here is the Activity Conversion Chart, to convert non-distance based activities such as yoga and weight training into equivalent distances for entering into My Virtual Mission or The Conqueror App.
The total distance is 480 miles! In the virtual challenge app, you can create a team and share the distance with the other people in your team. We recommend a team size of 4-8 people.
