Seattle University welcomes applicants who have received their
education through home schooling experiences. At Seattle University
we recognize that traditional high school may not be ideal for
every student. However, in order to maintain consistency in how we
read applications from all students, home school students must
supply the additional information noted in the Seattle University
Home School Freshman Applicant Policy. Seattle University
Admissions requires the following application requirements in order
to thoroughly evaluate whether home school applicants have the
necessary foundation of skills and academic credentials to be
successful students at Seattle University.
All freshman applicants, regardless of home school status, are
required to submit the following:
- Completed
Common Application with essay and application fee
- Completed
Seattle University Supplemental Application with Personal
Statement
- Official
transcripts for all completed or in-progress coursework
- Official SAT
or ACT scores

recommendation
- One counselor
recommendation/secondary school report
In addition to the general application requirements listed
above, all freshman home school applicants are also required to
submit the following:
- The Common Application Home School Supplement
- A detailed official home school transcript in addition to any
other official transcripts
- One additional letter of recommendation from a

- Non-home-school-setting assessments in three academic areas:

For home school students, academic merit scholarships will rely
heavily on SAT and/or ACT scores. In addition to submitting all
required application materials, we also encourage home school
applicants to arrange an individual appointment with an Admissions
Counselor by contacting the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.
Because every home school student's situation is unique, it is our
goal to be consistent and balance accommodation with our commitment
to a holistic application review.
