Freshman Students

Admission Timeline

  • Junior Year

    • February - If you're not receiving mail from Seattle University, join our mailing list .
    • March - Start visiting campus during your spring break.  You can arrange a campus visit any time of the year here .
    • May / June - Take the ACT and/or SAT for the first time.
    • August - Attend the Seattle University College Planning Day.

    Senior Year

    • September / October / November - Meet with the Seattle University representative when he or she visits your school.  Contact your counselor here for specific dates.
    • October / November - Repeat the ACT or SAT.  Seattle University takes the highest sub-scores from these tests.
    • October - Request counselor and teacher recommendation letters on your behalf.
    • October 19 - Fall Preview Day on the Seattle University Campus.
    • November 15 - Seattle University Early Action deadline.  Apply online through the Common Application .
    • November 15 - Seattle University Sullivan Leadership Application Deadline .
    • November 15 - Fall Preview Day on the Seattle University Campus. 
    • December 23 - Early Action notification date.  Students who successfully completed their application through Early Action will be mailed an admission decision on this date.  Students selected to receive an institutional merit scholarship will be notified at the time of their acceptance.  Please note that most applicants will receive decision letters several days after this date.
    • January 1 - Earliest opportunity to submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) .   Be sure to submit the FAFSA by February 1.
    • January 15 - Seattle University Regular Decision deadline.  Apply online through the Common Application. 
    • March 1 - Regular Decision Reply Deadline.  Students who successfully completed their application through Regular Decision will be sent an admission decision on this date.  Students selected to receive an institutional merit scholarship will be notified at the time of their acceptance.
    •    Late March/ Early April - Accepted Student Regional Receptions for out of state students.
    • April 12 & 18 - Seattle University Accepted Student Open Houses.  These give you another opportunity to meet faculty, staff, and current students. 
    • May 1 - National Candidate's Reply Date - Deposits must be postmarked by this date for fall term enrollment at Seattle University.
    • July - Summer in Seattle orientation happens throughout July.
    • September - Welcome Week and Fall quarter begins in late September.
