"I am an international student from Mexico, transferred to Seattle University after graduating from Edmonds Community College (EdCC). I worked as a Student Coordinator at EdCC as well, and contributed to school activities as a Student Programmer. These experiences were eye-opening lessonsthat helped me to better understand thoughts, feelings, and diversity in general from a vast amount of cultures throughout the world.

It has always been motivating to me, to observe the transition of students who feel a bit shy or out-of-place to feel at home. In my experience at the Collegia at Seattle University, I find that students feel that they have a space to be themselves and to relax just like they would at home while being on campus."

"I transferred from Highline Community College last year. The Transfer Student Services has reduced a lot of anxiety I felt about transferring to a whole new university. The Transfer Student Services has been a wonderful guide for me to connecting with students, professors, facilities who are involved in campus organizations. This is the best place for me to feel included in my new Seattle University family. Besides, it has been a great supportive tool for the completion of my educational goals.

The Collegia has helped me find one of the most important elements of college life - interaction with my peers.  Students in the collegia share community & university information and news. This has helped me collect academic and entertainment materials as well as building my social life.  And so it is with great pleasure that I serve as your new Transfer Orientation Coordinator!"
