POST MASTER'S CERT. IN PASTORAL COUNSELING

This program is designed for people who have successfully completed graduate degrees in theology/ministry and seek to add coursework in counseling theory and clinical practice as part of the process of becoming licensed mental health counselors and/or certified pastoral counselors. Students entering this certificate program must have on the transcript of their previous master’s level theology degree the equivalent of the following courses:

1. STMM 553 Pastoral Care Skills;
2. STMM 554 Fostering Communities of Faith or STMC 554 Group Counseling Theory and Techniques; and
3. STMA 561 Psycho-Spiritual Development.

In addition to meeting the above requirements for admissions, applicants must also meet admissions requirements and procedures for STM programs as listed previously.

STMC 558 Pastoral Counseling Practicum IV (3)

STMC 559 Pastoral Counseling Practicum V (3)

STMC 560 Integrating Psychotherapy and Spirituality in a Pastoral Counseling Framework (3)
