The mission of CEN is to provide information on continuing educational opportunities for church leaders.
|
Providing opportunities for continuing education and lifelong learning is one of the ways Seattle University's School of Theology and Ministry (STM) lives out its mission to serve lay and ordained ministers from Catholic and Protestant traditions in an ecumenical setting. We welcome ministers and lay-leaders from many different faith traditions, careers, and specialties. These colleagues in ministry reflect the ecumenical face of STM and present an exciting opportunity for STM to create a learning environment that celebrates and enriches their talents and gifts.
STM’s continuing education network provides several ways for graduates and other church leaders to stay up-to-date on theological topics. In addition to a quarterly newsletter, STM also makes many courses available for auditing and provides many other opportunities.

The newsletter is published on the STM website. If you would like to receive an e-mail informing you each time the latest edition is posted on the web plus periodic updates, please send your name, mailing address, phone number, and preferred e-mail address to cen@seattleu.edu
If you do not have e-mail and would like to receive a hard copy of the newsletter, please send the same information and a $20 check (payable to Seattle University), to cover yearly production and mailing fees, to: School of Theology and Ministry, Attn.: CEN, Seattle University, PO Box 222000, Seattle, WA 98122. The opportunity to audit graduate level classes at the School of Theology and Ministry is one of the ways in which the School makes its rich theological, scripture, spirituality, and leadership resources available to active ministers. Classes are generally open for audit by career ministers or active lay persons who have appropriate academic preparation and who are engaged in a ministry that will benefit from further theological education.

Join colleagues in ministry to discuss significant theological topics in a welcoming, ecumenical context. Participants read a pre-selected article in advance of each meeting. These articles address a range of topics, including but not limited to classical, feminist, and liberation theology, and Latin American, African-American, and Asian traditions.
Meetings generally take place from noon to 1:30pm one day per month during the school year and are facilitated by prominent local pastors.
If you are interested in joining a colloquium, contact the CEN coordinator via e-mail at cen@seattleu.edu
