This year, Pax Christi USA celebrates 35 years of working for peace with justice. During this anniversary celebration, we will tell the stories of Pax Christi USA’s beginnings, remember those witnesses who set us on the “road to peace” and showed us how to be “lights in the darkness”. Throughout the weekend, presenters include Camilo Mejia, the first US soldier to publicly refuse to fight in the Iraq War; Ray McGovern, former CIA analyst and co-founder of Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity; Dr. Jamie Phelps, OP, theologian at Xavier University and director of the Institute for Black Catholic Studies in New Orleans; Rev. Charles Morris, global warming activist and director of Michigan Interfaith Power and Light; Drs. Jeanette Rodriguez and Ted Fortier, professors at Seattle University; Members of the Pax Christi Anti-Racism Team. The keynote presenter for the conference is Jack Jezreel of JustFaith Ministries. Rev. Thomas P. Rausch, S.J., Ph.D in religion from Duke University, is the T. Marie Chilton Professor of Catholic Theology at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. A specialist in ecclesiology, he has published thirteen books and over 190 articles and reviews, including Catholicism at the Dawn of the Third Millennium (1996) and Reconciling Faith and Reason: Apologists, Evangelists, and Theologians in a Divided Church (2000), Who Is Jesus? An Introduction to Christology (2003), and Towards a Truly Catholic Church (2005).
