Legacy comes from the Latin word Legatus—in Roman times an ambassador who was sent to the provinces to bring greetings, good news and gifts.
In the spirit of the Legatus, we encourage alumni and friends to become the School of Theology and Ministry’s ambassadors by leaving their legacy to the next generation of the School of Theology and Ministry’s students.
The Legacy Society is made up of members who have included STM in their estate plans, either through a will, a trust, a gift annuity, a life insurance policy, or a gift from a retirement plan. Each gift will come in the future to carry on the mission of the School of Theology and Ministry to develop our spiritual leaders toward a just and humane world.
If you have already remembered STM in your estate plans, please inform Sarah Perry, Academic Development Officer for the School of Theology and Ministry (206-296-6955/perrys@seattleu.edu) or Jane Orr, Senior Director of Planned Giving (206-296-6962/orrj@seattleu.edu).
