ACADEMIC PROGRAMS
|
The School of Theology and Ministry curriculum encourages students to reflect on their Christian faith through articulation of basic theological understandings. As the student engages the tradition and articulates the contest of their faith community, the curriculum guides the student to appropriate the larger ecclesial community's self-expression in the areas of scripture, theology and Ethics.
Living into the School of Theology and Ministry mission requires that each graduate achieve particular competencies. These include the ability to reflect theologically upon one's pastoral actions and to act out of a theological vision. These competencies also include the scholarship, skill and knowledge needed for effective pastoral work.

"STM is a spiritual pool of resources and religious traditions and applications — a very practical program. The pastoral helping skills course was a big opening to me. It asks, ´How do you feel?´; previously I asked ´What do I know?´ I appreciated that part of the program that had such openess to my cultural experience. Before, my vision was small and narrow. Now I can say it is much wider and deeper."
