SU students participate in King County's Project Driveway exhibit
February 16, 2007
Twenty-three local organizations such as Starbucks, Harley-Davidson, the Museum of Flight and Jones Soda teamed with King County to decorate curbside recycling bins as works of art. The bins are part of the "Project Driveway " campaign in King County that aims to increase residents' recycling. The idea is that the eye-catching bins will get people thinking about recycling more in their daily lives. Seattle University students (Lauren Cowley, Ashley Blazina, Julia Babkina, Jennifer Wascher) decorated their bin to look like a redhawk and included positive recycling messages on its wings. You can see SU's recycling bin and all the others at various shopping malls between February through May (schedule). Read the Seattle P-I story.
