The Office for Sustainability coordinates and advocates sustainability efforts by: 

  • Consulting and collaborating with administrators, faculty, staff and students on their sustainable initiatives
  • Connecting campus members to sustainability expertise, resources on and off campus and opportunities to engage with sustainability
  • Raising visibility and awareness on campus of sustainability issues
  • Developing programs, policies and practices

    Karen Price joined Seattle University in 2005 after serving as a Program Manager for the Resource Venture.  During that time she provided outreach, education, and technical assistance to Seattle businesses in the areas of green building, waste, water, and storm water management.  Karen received her BS in Business from Oregon State University and her MA in Organization Systems Renewal from Seattle University.  She is a LEED Accredited Professional, a Certified Sustainable Building Advisor and a Master Composter/ Recycler. In her work, Karen combines her skills in organizational development, social marketing, project management, consulting, and market research along with her technical knowledge on sustainability issues.
