got mug? is a campaign to use a reusable mug to reduce the number of disposable cups entering Seattle U's waste stream. The campaign is raising awareness with ads in the cafes, publicity in the Spectator, and beverage coupons. All hot drinks and fountain soda are discounted 20-cents when you bring a reusable mug to any on-campus café.
The impacts of coffee cups:
- Most cups are made of 100% bleached, virgin paper.
- Most cups are lined with plastic making them unrecyclable (Bon Appetit's cups are recyclable).
- Resource intensive manufacturing process.
