Seattle University’s Buildings are Carbon Neutral

We switched our buildings’ heat source from steam to natural gas, which has lower carbon emissions. New gas boilers annually reduce our building’s carbon emissions by 2 million pounds and our heating bill by $138,000. Our remaining building emissions are offset by a project that turns cow manure into power. (Read about these projects in Goodbye, Carbon Footprint.)
