  • Cisco VPN - Install VPN with Windows

     

    Objective:

    Install the Cisco AnyConnect VPN on a Windows computer.

    1. Download and run the installation file.
    2. Follow the instructions in the Cisco AnyConnect VPN Setup Wizard  to install the program.
    3. After installation, connect to vpn.seattleu.edu  and use your Seattle University email and password to log in.

    Detail: Step by step:

    The Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client is used to establish a connection between the computer you are using and the campus network.  This is only required when trying to use services such as Email, Network Drives, or Remote Desktop when off campus.The Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client should already be installed on all Seattle University laptops.  If you are already familiar with VPN and would like to install it on a personal computer, please proceed to the next step.

     Prerequisites:

    • The Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client will only work off campus. It will not work on campus.

    Step 1:  Click here to download the installation file:  Microsoft Windows .

  • When prompted with the  File Download - Security Warning  window, select  Run .

    Step 2:  After the download has finished, you will be prompted by another  File Download - Security Warning  window.  Select  Run  again.

    Step 3:  On the  Welcome to Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client Setup Wizard  window, click  Next .

    Step 4:  On the  End-User License Agreement Window,  select  I accept the terms in the license agreement  and then click  Next .

    Step 5:  On the  Ready to Install  window, click  Install .

    Step 6:  On the  Installing Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client  window, wait for the status bar to indicate that the installation is complete.

    Step 7:  On the  Completing the Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client Setup Wizard  window, click  Finish .

    The shortcut for the  Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client  should now be in your  Start Menu  under  All Programs  and the  Cisco  folder.

    Step 7:  You may now use VPN for access to Email, Network Drives, and Remote Desktop. Use vpn.seattleu.edu  and your SU credentials when logging in. For additional instructions please see  this article.  


    Please note that the VPN works only off campus and will not work on campus.
