About Yi Lian Klimecki

Yi Lian Klimecki graduated from Salpointe Catholic High School in Tucson, AZ. She was a member of the Art Club, the Young Democrats Club and a Model United Nations delegate. Her mural for the 2008 Virgen de Guadalupe mass was retained for permanent display. Yi Lian taught school, ran workshops and created a telenovela media project with the youth of a Nicaraguan village under the auspices of Amigos de las Americas. She won a KEYS (Keep Engaging Youth in Science) summer internship at the University of Arizona’s BIO 5 Institute, where she assisted in the genetic analysis of snails. She is a member of National Honor Society.
