Ashlan Runyan

About Ashlan Runyan

Ashlan graduated from Regis Jesuit High School in Aurora, CO. She was the VP of the Future Educators Association and the lead facilitator for the Diversity Action Group, and a delegate to the Ignatian Family Teach-In in Washington, DC. As head of the Justice League she spearheaded a campaign to make her school a sweat-free campus with fair trade policies. She was a member of the National and Spanish Honor Societies. She was a Kairos retreat leader and member of Peace Jam, an organization that connects youth with Nobel Peace Prize Laureates to promote social change.

SU Experience

For her first two years at SU, Ashlan has been in University Honors and declared a double major in English Literature and Philosophy. She has been involved with Sustainable Student Action, working on a campaign to divest from the fossil fuel industry as well as other environmental justice efforts. She also spends time coordinating Green Team to help new students familiarize themselves with our composting and recycling programs on campus. Additionally Ashlan was an intern at the SU Center for Environmental Justice and Sustainability. She is now a proud team member at a local pizza restaurant, Humble Pie, committed to sustainability and community.
