The Sullivan Leadership Program promotes the personal and professional growth of the Sullivan Scholars as agents of change for a more just and humane world.
The Sullivan Leadership Award was established in 1988 in recognition of the Reverend William J. Sullivan, S.J., president emeritus, for his dedication, leadership and service to the Jesuit institution and community. Father Sullivan served as president of Seattle University from 1976 to 1996 and as chancellor until his retirement in 2009.
