Welcome, Isiaah Crawford
A new era in Seattle University academics begins July 1 with the arrival of Provost Dr. Isiaah Crawford, successor to Provost Emeritus John Eshelman. Crawford brings to SU a deep awareness and appreciation for Jesuit education—he spent more than 20 years in teaching and leadership roles at Loyola University Chicago.

Before the big day, Seattle University students and their families participated in another important ceremony that is a tradition for the graduating class: Baccalaureate Mass at St. James Cathedral.

Star Athlete
Women's basketball standout Jackie Thomas, '08, has been named an Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar for 2008, as chosen by the Diverse: Issues in Higher Education magazine. Recipients were selected based on their work on and off the court. This is the latest honor for Thomas, who is the #1 all-time steals leader at SU (in men's and women's basketball). The scholar-athlete received the Distinguished Graduate Award and was a co-nominee for NCAA Woman of the Year.
