Other Recreational Opportunities
Leisure Education
Leisure education classes are for all students, faculty, staff,
and community members who are interested in sports, fitness, or
general recreation. The classes are designed to provide the participants
with quality instruction in a variety of activities, such as aerobics,
yoga, swimming, etc.
Outdoor Recreation
Opportunities are available in a number of areas to get outdoors,
gain new skills, improve old skills or just get together with
friends. Emphasis is on coordination of trips ranging from day
hikes to weekend expeditions. Also, unique or unusual experiences
such as bicycle trips, cross country skiing, sailing, kayaking,
etc. are available.
Club Sports
The Club Sport component of the Recreation program is an exciting
and rapidly growing feature, which focuses on student leadership.
The Recreation office provides encouragement, guidance, and cooperation,
but a club survives and thrives on active student involvement
and participation.
The primary purpose of Club Sports is to provide an opportunity
for students to pursue an area of special interest and to promote
that activity for others. Club sports also help promote socialization
among members with a common interest. Competitions often include
other colleges in the Northwest.
Club Sports currently active at Seattle University include:
Skiing Men's Volleyball Baseball
Marksmanship Cross-Country Crew
See the CLUB SPORT HANDBOOK for more information.
Special Events

in "unique experiences" held on or off campus. They
may range from very elaborate to informal. Examples: skiing, sailing,
golf classics, 3 on 3 basketball tournaments, etc.
