Rabbi Daniel A. Weiner was born in Cincinnati, OH, and raised in San Francisco. His father, Rabbi Martin S. Weiner, recently retired as Senior Rabbi of Congregation Sherith Israel in San Francisco. Rabbi Weiner earned his BA in Communication Studies from the University of California at Los Angeles, where he served in university leadership and was selected as Commencement Speaker in 1986.
Rabbi Weiner is the author of Good God: Faith for the Rest of Us a book that works to get past the dangerous polarization between fanatical faith and soulless secularism, which pollsters love and most of us reject. Most people are "the rest of us" and this book speaks to that great middle which refuses to be pushed to either extreme.
