NAPAD 16th Biennial Convocation August 4-7 at Seattle University
The North American Pacific/Asian Disciples (NAPAD) will gather at Seattle University August 4-7 for its 16th Biennial Convocation. With over 10 languages and cultures, NAPAD represents the broad and rich diversity of Pacific/Asian Disciples in the United States and Canada and is the most diverse and fastest growing community of Disciples. This is an exciting gathering for NAPAD where we will discuss our future in light of mission alignment in the broader denomination. NAPAD Convocation welcomes all for worship, business, learning and cultural celebration.
This year's featured speakers include: Dr. Timothy Tseng, President and Executive Director of the Institute for the Study of Asian American Christianity (ISAAC); Dr. Young Lee Hertig who serves as Southern California Regional Director of ISAAC, oversees the growth of Asian American Women on Leadership and currently teaches in the Global Studies and Sociology Department at Azusa Pacific University in California; and our own Rev. Dr. Sharon Watkins, General Minister and President of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).
A highlight of Convocation is Cultural Night, a celebration of diversity through the gifts of song, dance, language, culture and food. The evening features a banquet and cultural show and celebration held on Friday August 6th. Tickets may be purchased at the door.
All are welcome at Convocation—additional information and registration information can be found at http://www.napad.net
