Every month, CTSL offers Transfer Talk - a transfer student discussion group. Be a part of an intimate, ongoing discussion that will meet to talk about issues that im-pact your experience at SU. Join us for food, fun, and conversation. This is the perfect time to meet your fel-low transfer students, learn about Seattle University resources, voice your opinion, and share your experiences. These talks are facilitated by a Transfer SUccess Leader and are held in the James C. Pigott Pavilion for Leadership Building, Living Room. This registration is open to all SU transfer students. A in Strategic Intelligence from the American Military University in Virgina, he served as a counter terrorism officer with the Department Defense, and finished his federal career as Assistant Director of the White House Situation Room. Currently, Brian has an international travel security startup, and is a family operations officer. He will be discussing "Stages of Leadership" and how to find and renew your vocational passion. In this timely lecture presented by the School of Law’s as part of its Influential Voices series, Professor Steve Bender will address how to instill a better image of immigrants in the American imagination as a catalyst for reform and reflect on how the outcome of the election could reshape immigration policies. Bender’s lecture is based on his new book, Run for the Border: Vice and Virtue in U.S.-Mexico Border Crossings. The event is open to all, but RSVPs are requested at Bordering on Hate. The Student Alumni Ambassadors welcome alumni, Joe Cotton and Lindsay Leeder, for an open panel discussion on their journeys to success. Cotton is a 1999 graduate of Matteo Ricci College, and currently the director of Seattle’s King County Juvenile Detention Ministry. While pursuing a master’s degree in pastoral studies at SU's School of Theology and Ministry, he is also an international volunteer, as well as a regional board member for Friends of the Orphans, an organization that supports homes for orphans in Haiti. Leeder is a faculty member in the College of Nursing as well as an advisor to the Sullivan Leadership Program. Dessert and coffee will be provided! Business casual attire suggested. Come by the Campus Store to see handcrafted works of art of the highest quality from the village of Masaya in the foothills of central Nicaragua. The store has been selling works of art from Nicaragua since 2004. The products are among the purest as the artisans dig their own clay and form each piece individually with handmade ceramic tools.
