Formerly Assistant Professor in Liturgical Studies in the Caspersen School of Graduate Studies at Drew University, Madison, NJ, Dr. Comings continues to work with Drew’s Liturgical Studies doctoral students on their comprehensive examinations and dissertation committees. She has also taught at The General Theological Seminary of the Episcopal Church, New York City. She is Director of Research for The Advent Project, a seminar group of the North American Academy of Liturgy.
Areas of study include the history of the Christian year, early Christian liturgical history, Christian initiation, and Anglican liturgical history. She is currently working on the history of the season of Advent in conjunction with her work with the Advent Project, a group promoting the expansion of the season to seven weeks. www.theadventproject.org
