Living into Seattle University School of Theology and Ministry (STM) mission requires that each graduate achieve particular skill sets, frameworks and sensitivities. These include the ability to reflect upon one’s actions and to act out of a theological vision. These competencies also include the scholarship, skill and knowledge needed for effective work in a variety of career settings.
Graduates are actively sought and pursue multiple career options. Students and alumni of STM are directors of nonprofit organizations, counselors and psychologists in traditional therapy and social service organizations, work in public policy and government, lead marketing firms, are church pastors, direct retreats, serve as pastoral associates, lead youth programs inside and outside of faith communities, are military chaplains and liturgical leaders, direct educational programs and pursue a wide variety of other vocational fields. Whatever paths they pursue, their lives and capacity to help shape a better world are immeasurably richer because of their time spent in Seattle University School of Theology and Ministry's diverse and eclectic learning community.
