Faculty Announcement:
Dr. Mary Rose Bumpus Elected to Important Leadership Post
 
Seattle University's School of Theology and Ministry (STM) has officially announced that Dr. Mary Rose Bumpus, a member of the Sisters of Mercy (RSM), will transition from the STM’s core faculty to serve as part of the leadership team for her religious community. This position of leadership will last at least four years.

The Sisters of Mercy (RSM) community is vowed to serve people in poverty, sickness, and lack of education, and have ministries throughout the United States, including the Caribbean, and Central and South America.  Among other things, the religious community runs a large number of health care systems and schools.  In her new leadership position, Dr. Bumpus will help to guide the Sisters of Mercy into the next phase of their common life, and will be tasked with resolving a raft of complex institutional issues.

Dr. Mary Rose Bumpus has been an integral part of STM's core faculty since 2004. Over the years, she has inspired students in classes such as of "Psycho-Spiritual Development", the "Introduction to the Art of Spiritual Direction" and more.  

Dr. Bumpus has been a wonderful addition to the School, a great colleague and friend, a steady presence on the faculty and a well-respected and beloved teacher.
