Contextual Education Formation
The School of Theology and Ministry places a high value on Contextual Education. Why this high value? Contextual Education is located at the crossing point of academics, skills, and formation. It becomes the focal point for integration of theory and practice.
Contextual Education works best when it is at the crossing point where what we learn, who we are, what we do and how we hope to be, meet. Contextual Education takes seriously not only a student’s experience, gifts, personal identity and culture, call to ministry, religious tradition but also the context(s) in which pastoral ministry and service take place.
The formation process offers generous assistance to students in determining the appropriate program and placement in their progression towards fulfilling the Contextual Education requirements.
