On 6/19/10, three of our STM students were commissioned in the United Methodist Church for provisional status. The commissioning takes place as a part of the ordination service at their Annual Conference. Commissioning in the UMC is a preliminary step to ordination and offers a period of 2-3 years for the provisional elder or deacon to demonstrate effective ministry.
