Preparing Educational Leaders

The purpose of the College of Education is

"to prepare ethical and reflective professionals for quality service in diverse communities."

Established in 1935, the College of Education has a long and successful history of preparing outstanding teachers, counselors and administrators for elementary, secondary, and higher education. Alumni include college presidents, vice presidents and deans, superintendents and principals, leaders in the community, classrooms, counseling centers, business and non-profit organizations.

There are many benefits to enrolling in the degree or certificate programs:

Evening courses in most programs for working professionals

Small class size, with a maximum of 25 students per class

SUMMER 2008

SUMMER 2008 COURSE SCHEDULE

The summer 2008 course schedule is available for both CoE students and for any others (non-matriculated students) who want to take one or more courses during the summer. Summer session begins on June 23 and ends on August 15. There are two 4 week sessions (1st 4 weeks and 2nd 4 weeks) and one 8 week session. In addition, there are other courses that range from one week to six weeks in length. Advanced registration for matriculated students begins on Wednesday, May 14. Non-matriculated students need to contact the Graduate Admissions office (206-296-2000 or prospectives student inquiry) for application materials and registration information.

MULTICULTURAL EDUCATION SUMMER INSTITUTE

The Summer 2008 Multicultural Education Institute offers two courses: Anti-Racism Education (6/30-7/3; all day, 4 days only) and Teaching for Educational Equity (8/04-08; all day, 5 days only). Earn 3 graduate or continuing Education credits for each course. Graduate credits may be counted toward a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction.
