Electrical & Computer EngineeringIt's an exciting time to be an electrical engineer. Electrical engineers are at the forefront of the technology leading to the dramatic increase in wireless technology, the accelerated use of electric powered vehicles and alternatives, improved health care, the dominating influence of the computer on modern society, and a host of other developments to benefit mankind. This widespread and expanding use of electronic equipment in virtually all fields has made electrical engineering the largest of all scientific disciplines and assures a continuing demand for electrical engineering graduates throughout business and government. The Electrical and Computer Engineering Department aims to provide a strong foundation in the areas of mathematics, physics, computing, and electrical engineering theory and practice. It also strives to develop a student's ability to communicate effectively as well as to gain experience and confidence in leadership, project management, teamwork and professional ethics. The SU program is reviewed periodically for improvements and is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, inc. See senior students in action...
