Welcome to Electrical & Computer Engineering & Microsoft DreamSpark 

Seattle University's Department of Computer Science is a member of the Microsoft DreamSpark. This membership subscription permits the college to make Microsoft products available to students who are currently enrolled in computer technology and information systems courses. As such, students enrolled in Electrical & Computer Engineering courses are eligible to download software subject to the MSDNAA licensing terms.

Lost Password: If you lost your password; Go to the DreamSpark Software Center Login page and select the "Forgotten my password" link to reset your password. 

 

Software for popular products such as Project, Windows 7 & 8, Expression Studio, Visual Studio, Visio, and more are available in the following formats.  Software is licensed for personal and educational use, you should not use it for commercial purposes. 

  • The Microsoft Office product is not available from DreamSpark. There are many online sources for the student version of Office.

 
  Spark Mail Order Go

  • Mail Order Discounted DVD Purchase: If available you are able to purchase Microsoft software at a highly discounted rate (approximately $5 to $30, plus shipping). The Mail Order software will be mailed to your home and is most convenient if not in  a rush.
  

 Spark Go

  • Free Download Versions: You may download a free copy of the software from DreamSpark. You may keep the software on your computer indefinitely. The software is often quite large and can take many hours to download.  One you have downloaded the software you may be required to burn it to DVD.

Engineering challenges I faced at the Medishare hospital Haiti.  George Balagtas

I generated a test protocol toward hopefully restoring X-ray functionality.  The mechanical engineer who has been doing his best to troubleshoot the machine believes that there might be faulty circuitry on the PCB assembly.  I did indeed discover three burnt out transistors, a couple of charred passives, and even two cracked IC's nearby the board's voltage regulators.  Literally, that board is toast!

Congratulations to Hao Nguyen who will be studying embedded computing in the Electrical Engineering Department at UCLA. Hao will start his graduate program this fall and plans to continue all the way to Ph.D!

Nick Arvanitidis, EE Graduate ’63, recipient Alumnus of the Year

Nick Arvanitidis considers himself “a philosopher,” one who offers sage advice culled from rich life experiences in the academic and business worlds. Being named Alumnus of the Year is a great honor, Arvanitidis says. “I am very grateful for what SU did for me,” he says. “Not just going to school here, but the mentoring that was provided. This is very humbling.”
