Our
Faculty and Staff

Carolyn Coffin, MPH, RDMS, RDCS, RVT
Carolyn Coffin is the current
chairperson of the program and
teaches Cross-Sectional Anatomy,
Abdominal Sonography and OB/GYN
Sonography. She is registered in
six ultrasound specialties and is
active in the national professional
community. Ms. Coffin's background
includes experience in ultrasound
education at the community college
level and as a clinical instructor.
Her ultrasound experience includes a
broad range of specialized areas
including pediatric ultrasound. Ms.
Coffin's graduate work was in the
area of occupational injury of
sonographers and she lectures
nationally on ergonomics in the
Ultrasound lab. |

Diane Luwe, BS, RDMS
Diane Luwe
holds the position of Clinical Coordinator.
She has been an instructor in the department for
twenty three years and has taught Human Cross-Sectional Anatomy,
Management and Professionalism, OB/GYN
Sonography and Senior Projects. She is
registered in Abdomen and OB/GYN and holds
Secondary Education Endorsements in General
Science, Biology and Chemistry. |
Terry Read, BA, BS, RDCS, RDMS, RVT
Terry Read has been an instructor
with the program for the past nine years. Prior to that he was a
clinical instructor in the field of
ultrasound for eighteen years. He is
registered in four specialty areas
and teaches Vascular Sonography,
Cardiac Sonography, Management and Research
Design. Mr. Read works extensively
with the senior interns in their
seminar course and is a mentor to
their senior projects. He is an
alumnus of the Seattle University
Diagnostic Ultrasound Program and is
active in the local
professional community. |

Rachel Kendoll, BS, RVT
Rachel Kendoll has been an
instructor with the program since
2006. She comes to us from Tacoma
Community College. She has been
registered since 1997, in the area
of vascular sonography. She is
currently the instructor for lab
classes.

Susan Espaņol
Susan Espaņol
is the Senior Administrative Assistant for the
DIUS Program. Ms. Espaňol
comes to SU with 15 years of experience in
Program Management. She is responsible
for
all student internship, health and advising
records. She is involved with all faculty/student
communications and is the liaison with the
University's Administration, Admissions and
Registrars offices. |

In
addition to current faculty,
the program employs several
well-known practitioners
from the local professional
community to teach specific
courses during the year,
giving the students
additional insight into the
profession they have chosen.
