Degree Requirements and Course Descriptions

Suggested Study Plan (2 years)

In order to earn the Bachelor of Diagnostic Ultrasound degree, students must complete a minimum of 181 credits with a cumulative and a major GPA of 2.5 in the University core curriculum and major requirements. In addition, Diagnostic Ultrasound students must receive a grade of C or better in all required courses.

A student’s actual plan of study may vary from this example due to prior educational experience or individual goals. This plan of study assumes that the student is transferring to Seattle University with a transferable associate’s degree and has completed all DIUS major pre-requisites.

The Diagnostic Ultrasound program is a cohort format in which students must take all of the ultrasound courses in the prescribed order and with the group of students with whom they entered with. The ultrasound curriculum must be completed in two years .

Transfer Student Guide

All Transfer / Junior students are required by Seattle University to take TRST 200 level, PHIL 352 and PHIL 210. These classes must be taken the summer quarter between your junior and senior year. All Core classes must be taken before you can be placed in a clinical site for internship.

Transfer students should contact the Admissions Office regarding community college course equivalencies. Course equivalencies can also be found on the Washington Community College Transfer Guide link on the Office of the Registrar's homepage. If you are an out of state transfer contact the Admissions Department for answers on equivalencies'. Transcripts cannot be evaluated by the program staff or faculty. This process is completed by the Evaluators in the Registrar's office. Students that have English as a second language please note you must complete the TOEFL exam before the application deadline.
