Andrea Verdan
is thrilled to be teaching general chemistry at her alma mater. After graduating
from Seattle U with degrees in chemistry and humanities, she moved Barcelona,
Spain, where—while working as an English language instructor—she discovered her
passion for teaching. Returning to the U.S. to unite her love of teaching and
fascination with chemistry, Andrea decided to pursue graduate school at Clemson
University and recently received her Ph.D. in chemistry education. Her research
interests focus on understandings of scientific epistemology and professional
identity for those within and on the trajectory of science and engineering
careers.
