Assistant Professor
The Department of Civil and
Environmental Engineering at Seattle
University invites
applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position with an
environmental engineering emphasis to begin September 2008. Teaching
responsibilities will include undergraduate lecture and laboratory courses in
the environmental engineering area including water and wastewater engineering,
hazardous waste management, green engineering, environmental chemistry,
environmental biology and air pollution engineering. Teaching responsibilities
will also include advising a year-long, industrially sponsored senior design
project. The ability to teach
undergraduate courses in other areas of civil engineering is also desired.

committees or other governance activities.
Applicants are required to have a Ph.D. in civil and/or
environmental engineering or closely related field. Successful teaching
experience or clear evidence of a commitment to undergraduate teaching and
research is essential. Preference will be given to candidates who are licensed
professional engineers, or to those who can meet the requirements to become
licensed.
