CEE Students Shine at ITE

 2012 ITE Winners
Evan Niimoto and Ian Pumo

Congratulations to Evan Niimoto’14 and Ian Pumo’13 for placing second in the annual Washington State Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) student competition! The team presented their design solution for vehicle-bicycle conflicts in the Dexter-7th avenue corridor between John and Bell streets.  The corridor has the highest volume of bicycle traffic in Seattle (360 riders per hour during the morning peak). In addition to participating in a poster session, the team gave an oral presentation to the room of 60 engineering professionals. They also received a $300 cash prize.
