Congratulations to Tyler Daniels’15 and Hillary Tervet’15 for placing second in the annual Washington State Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) student competition! The team presented their design solution for improved safety and efficiency at the five-way intersection of W Marginal Way SW, SW Spokane St, and Chelan Ave SW. The intersection has heavy bicycle volumes, connecting downtown Seattle to the Alki Trail, and many freight vehicles passing through daily. In addition to participating in a poster session, the team gave an oral presentation to the room of 60 engineering professionals. They also received a $300 cash prize.
