As a Chemistry student, you will have the opportunity to conduct undergraduate research with faculty in
the department and with researchers at local biotech companies. Students
have opportunities to present their research findings at National Conferences
throughout the academic year.
In 2013, students presented their work at the
National Meeting of the American Chemical Society in New Orleans. Other
students traveled to the National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR)
to which we have sent students since its inception over 25 years ago.

We also encourage our students to be engaged in our local community. Many students volunteer as
tutors for elementary students in science and math and also volunteer in local
Seattle University Chemistry students have gone on to prestigious Graduate Programs at Harvard, MIT, UC San
Diego, Cornell, UCLA and Wisconsin, to name a few.
