An early email communication is a simple way establish initial contact, introduce yourself, and share your expectations. Student Profile Form

The profile form provides you with information about advisees including specific information they would like to know about their major, out-of-class activities they wish to pursue, academic skills they would like to develop, and the personal support services they want to know about. This is a useful tool to use to initiate conversations about goal setting and long term educational planning and to refer students to other campus resources. an Advising "Syllabus"

The Advising "Syllabus" functions basically the same way an actual syllabus does, allowing you to provide contact information, key dates, and an outline of expectations for the advising process.
