Transfer Guides

The transfer guides were developed as a resource for students planning to transfer from Washington state community colleges. Prospective students or applicants may use this as a tool in preparing themselves for study at SU. An official evaluation of transfer coursework will be provided upon admission to SU. This guide does not constitute an official evaluation.

The guides are arranged in alphabetical order below. To view or print a guide, locate it in the list and click on the link. You will need to have Adobe Acrobat Reader software to access the guides.

Current SU students who are considering taking courses at another institution and wish to receive SU credit for their work must submit a Transfer Verification Request form to the Office of the Registrar for evaluation prior to enrolling at the other institution.

Most of the Washington State Community and Technical Colleges have transitioned to a common course numbering system. Courses that have been determined as being comparable among the colleges are now identified by having an ampersand in the subject code, e.g. ENGL& 101. Note that this new system does not affect how Seattle University determines transfer equivalencies.

Refer to the community or technical college you are attending or plan to attend for information on how the new numbers equate to the old numbers. For a centralized source, the Washington State Board for Community and Technical Colleges has a searchable common course numbering database on their website: http://apps.sbctc.edu/ccn/
