Mission
The Mission of Fitness & Instructional Programs is to provide fitness and instructional opportunities to the students, faculty, staff, and alumni of Seattle University, as well as members of the Fitness Center. This is also an opportunity for patrons to interact with others who have similar interests, relieve stress and develop the mind, body and spirit. This programming fits into the Mission and Values of Seattle University, which includes educating the whole person and putting the good of students first.
Our Programs
Our Group Fitness program grants our members access to a variety of levels and modalities of fitness in a social setting. Keeping pace with current fitness trends, our instructors bring a multitude of dance, spinning, yoga, group strength and choreographed cardio classes.

Instructional Programming includes Martial Arts (Aikido, Jujitsu and Karate). Our Martial Arts programs are ongoing and are led by experienced Sensei. This programs is open to members of the community and welcomes all levels of fitness.

Personal Training is a primarily student driven program, assisting our members with reaching their fitness and wellness goals in a one on one or small group basis. Comprehensive screening, wellness assessment and equipment orientation accompany each package and all training is adapted to the individual's background, interest and goals. Personal Training provides adherence, goal attainment and improved self esteem!

Educational programs round out the fitness program, bringing the mind-body-spirit connection full circle. You have the opportunity to learn life saving techniques through one of our Red Cross Certification classes or obtain the skills to become a certified personal trainer, in our ACE Personal Training Certification Preparation Class.
